Friend's Pretty Crochet

a very good morning to a beautiful new week !

you may remember I wrote about a dear friend from the Netherlands who visited us two weeks ago

besides we had a lovely time biking and hiking, city touring and so much more

we also crocheted together and what a great time we had!

laying out our work, discussing color combinations and techniques... so nice to be able to share this

while I worked on a new summer baby blanket design

she finished the cushion cover she made for us and it turned out sooooo gorgeous! we both truly love it

and there is a little story behind this beautiful cover...

~

a year a go, just before our move to Canada, I bought two sets of the same yarn

this yarn: cream white, coral pink, and three shades of green

I gave one set to my friend as a goodbye gift, and kept one set to myself

we promised to crochet a keepsake gift for each other and exchange them whenever we finished

so here I am showing the gift I got! beautiful in color and style, shining on our couch

~

and I hear you asking : what is my gift to her?

well... that is still a secret and has to wait until Winter to be revealed...

if you can bare with me, you will know by then why I waited so long to show you

now if you'll excuse me

I am back to my latte and magazines...

wishing you a beautiful week of Summer

  6. I absolutely love the idea of giving a dear friend the same set of yarn and making each other keepsakes. I wish I had more friends that crocheted or knitted! Alas, I am one of a kind.

I am also enjoying your discovery of Canada. I live in Fort Nelson, BC, which is right near the border to the Northwest Territories and the Yukon. We also enjoy camping and discovering the outdoors. We live in a very small town (population of about 3500 people) and I have always wanted to visit Toronto. More so now that I see all of the great places you have found!

Keep up the BEAUTIFUL work! I love checking in on your blog!
