Pincushion Fix

a few weeks ago one of my puppy nightmares came true, Floyd got a hold on the beautiful pincushion dear Rachael made for me two years ago when I got into sewing. here are some pictures of it. but alas, Floyd found it and chewed the beautiful scallop edging here and there. after becoming very mad at him I became very sad to see this dear pincushion lying there, I did not dare to take pictures of it. mind you, the unraveled edging as you see in the pictures is what I had to do to take the top loose from the bottom, it is not how Floyd left it.

last night I wanted to use the pincushion for my pins and decided to give it a go and try to crochet a similar but new top. I did not have the larger cotton thread at hand in these pretty colors, so went with Catania cotton instead. just by taking a good look at the original, I crocheted happily along and after a few hours it was restored for as best as I could.
now off to enjoy my latte and cupcake, followed by happy pinning and sewing again!

enjoy your weekend

  1. You did a great job of hooking another top, it is a lovely pattern! Those cupcakes looks so inviting that I am sitting here salivating. Best keep the dog away from the cake too LOL. Cheers!

  7. They say puppies are as bad as small children when it comes to destroying things. Glad you were able to replicate the pincushion. It looks good enough to eat, love those colours together.
