Granny Squares


last Friday morning during breakfast, I checked my e-mail

and found a kind request by a lovely lady, for the possibilities to make her a beautiful blanket

a baby blanket, with granny squares like the one in my header

of course in all my excitement, I left my breakfast and we started sending pictures and ideas back and forth

I absolutely  l o v e  the design process

and how great to be back at the granny squares for a while?!





this blanket will be about twice as large the other baby blankets

I am so honored this lady likes her girl to grow up with my blanket!

it is supposed to match baby's room with light gray and whites, combined with beautiful colorful curtains

colorwise : lots of orange tones, and she loves the contrast of orange and blue~teal tones

this future mom did such an amazing job in selecting colors, all 16 of them





I am in love with this new blanket already

and can't help it but add quite some squares to it each day

nothing more pleasing than seeing beauty grow...

    That is going to be a beautiful blanket. I checked the link for curtains, and they look very cool and cheerful. It is going to be a very modern girl room.

    This blanket will be loved for years! My daughter has a white crocheted blanket someone made for her when she was a baby. She became very attached to "blankie" and still at the age of 13 has it to this day. It is not as white as it once was, has several spots where it was sewn to repair holes where she teethed on it but she still snuggles with it at bed time.(she squishes it up and uses it like a pillow) we joke that she will be married and still using it as a pillow!

    Wow, het haken kan ik ook, ik heb je patroontjes gekocht en ben er superblij mee, maar de mooie kleurencombinaties die je maakt, dat kan ik niet. Ik vind dat nog steeds moeilijk, dus blijf graag gebruik maken van je voorbeelden. Opnieuw hele mooie kleuren. Wordt het een grote deken?

      Hai Arianne, dankjewel voor je lieve commentaar, je bent welkom om de combinaties af te kijken :) Het wordt een redelijk grote deken, ongeveer 1,5 tot 2 keer zo groot als de andere babydekentjes. Echt een mee-groei deken zoals de aanstaande moeder wenst!
