fresh from the design front ~ smile
some pictures of the progress I made with the new design
Miami City blanket
made with Rowan Siena yarn I found in Miami
after the pattern of Miami Beach with a little wave
I decided to give this blanket a full ripple for a few rows
~
the beautiful hydrangea I got a few weeks ago
is slowly changing color ~ from a creamy white to more green and pink
I have a feeling the flower is trying to match the new blanket ...
new to this design is the color dark brown
to me it fits really well as a nice contrasting color in this palette
but I am wondering how you feel about the color brown for a baby blanket ~ does it fit ?
~
happy Tuesday to you ~ I am off to the last preparations for today's craft group
ReplyDeletei like it!!
ReplyDeletei think brown is okay for a baby blanket.. its different from the normal baby blue and pink.. i like it!
have a nice evening, svenja
I heard that brown and grey are the new 'in' colours for babies, so it should be perfect. I love your Miami design xx
ReplyDeletehaha, good to know, grey and brown it shall be from now on :)
DeleteI think it fits perfectly well.
ReplyDeleteIt makes a beautiful contrast.
yes I agree, I think contrast makes it more lively
DeleteOn my computer screen it looks to be quite a mulberry kind of brown, which is lovely.
ReplyDeleteMulberry brown sounds classy to me, I like that!
DeleteOh Maaike, je gaat als een speer! En wat een mooie kleuren weer. Zo'n moodbaord werkt echt goed, he?
DeleteI love brown for baby things - I often knit baby cardigans and dress tops in brown - I think it's a very stylish colour.
ReplyDeleteFleur xx
Thanks Fleur, I am happy to read it's stylish :)
DeleteI think brown fits nicely into a baby blanket! As a matter of fact, I chose a taupe brown for the baby blanket I will be starting today. yay! Thanks to you, i am beginning on the miami beach patterned blanket. I must say that the pattern, directions, charts, and helpful hints are great. You have done an amazing job! I will be posting about it soon!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Gerri

Brown: absolutely! And it's quite unisex when you think of it, very useful. The blanket looks lovely, such a gorgeous pattern with those ripples in the middle. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteYou're right Kirsty, brown is unisex indeed now that I think of it, very handy when it comes to newborn blankets!

Brown fits great. Gives it that retro feeling, which I LOVE.
ReplyDeleteI like baby things that are not too baby... :)
haha, I know what you mean, everything in light blue or light pink can get kind of dull at a certain point... Dark brown is very seventies and eighties indeed now that I think of it. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteDankjewel! Leuk om dat van jou te horen :)
