Love x3

today is about Love
in three different ways

first there is love to give and receive ~ to and from ~ Maureen
she sent me this wonderful heart~and~cushioncover~package because I won her give-away
look how it all perfectly matches my new knitted blanket... I love the cushions and the wooden heart

thank you so much Maureen! You are the sweetest

second there is of course the Lovely Royal Wedding today in London, GB
are you watching it? I love royal weddings

I was in Amsterdam when Willem Alexander and Máxima married in 2002
we watched the horse carriage with the royal couple from a close stand
and even saw Valentino, who designed The Dress, attending the party at the royal palace
it was an amazing day ~ and today will be as well

of course, since my blog is kind of a craftblog as well
I have to show you this knitted couple from this book, the stamps, and how about the teabags?!
all found in last Saturday's newspaper

third there is another reason this day is about love
and that is... well, kind of a personal thing
ladies I have news for you!
stay tuned, it will be revealed this Sunday...

~ Happy Royal Weekend to you! ~
~ and to the Dutch ladies: Happy Queensday tomorrow! ~

Cute Pretties

so here it is
the post I had in mind before the little game came to my mind

last week my friend Wija visited us
we ate that pretty butterflycake
~
and she took her newest crochet items with her
beautiful flowers in all kinds of colorcombinations
and the little cute hearts... so lovely

she is showing her new summer paisley~skirt
and I am showing how perfectly her crochet flowers match my Blond Amsterdam cakeplates
and of course... tulips
~
as you can see, we enjoyed a great time together

I wish you a delicious piece of cake, calm crocheting, a pretty skirt and beautiful tulips today!

Easter~treat Winner

this was the warmest Easter since 1901
can you believe that?

it feels like we skipped Spring and jumped from Winter to Summer
no complaining here though
~ smile ~

perfect weather to start joining these little pretties

but the question was: how many are there?
you seemed to enjoy the game and guessed from 75 to 215

the actual number was 134
so I had to make 3 more to get to 137, a number of hexagons that will make a square blanket

Jolanda from Meuk is Leuk came very close with her 133 guess
so that makes Jolanda the winner of the Easter~treat!

send me your address Jolanda and I will mail you a treat

~ Happy Easternight and a lovely week to you all ~

by the way: I recovered from my cold fever and started updating my pages with explanations how-to
I wonder what you think of the explanations I wrote over at my new page 'finished crochet projects'

Easter~treat!

for today I had a different post in draft
until last night, when I took a good look at my pile of hexagons

a few more and I can go and start joining them

but before joining I like to know how many of them there are
that will allow me to decide what shape to give the blanket

and then the following idea came to my mind

let's play that old game together
you know, where you see a bucket full of gumballs, coins or other items
and try to guess how many there are exactly ~ in return for a little treat

wanna play?

anyone can join
let me know in a comment to this post
how many hexagons you think there are in this large vase
and I will send a little treat to the winner ~ the right guess or the closest number

to give you a little more clues:
- all colors I used are represented on the left
- every color represents one ball of yarn, except for the white ones, of that color I used three yarnballs
- because the size of the vase is hard for you to estimate, I put my high heel boots next to it
- and on top of that I put the hexagons in a row, the look of it reminds me of the very hungry caterpillar

try your Easter-treat-luck!
winner will be announced at the end of Easter Monday, Dutch time

~ wishing you all a very happy, peaceful and sunny Easter ~

Cold fever

when I started creJJtion
now almost eight months ago

I created something, somehow, sometimes
I did take pictures, every now and then

now the world looks a bit different to me

I crochet every day on my way to work
I knit and sew in evenings and weekends

and I take pictures on a daily basis

I just do what I do
some people like what I create, some don't

but with creJJtion that idea changed somewhat
there is such thing as ~ inspiration ~

I am deeply honoured to read in the comments that I inspire some of you
and therefore, as an answer to your questions
I will start and try to write down how I do, what I do, when I create

how I choose yarn for a project, or pick a project to work with lovely yarn
why I prefer to buy yarn in a real shop ~ you can touch, feel and compare what you see
how I create new hexagons, choose matching colors, the right hook or knitting needles...

but for now I still need a few more days to get used to the idea, and I must admit I have cold fever
regarding how my way of creating will add up to all the great patterns and descriptions
that are already out there on the web...

~ sweet kisses ~

Relaxing

this week I took a plane to Sweden
to visit my brother and his girlfriend for a few days

what we do here is relax

CE Inne ute is my favorite shop in Örebro ~ so fresh and light
with a lovely terrace in Stallbäcken

we take our time for good coffee
and homemade sweets

this is the nearest yarn, fabric and craftshop
isn't that the cutest you have ever seen?

now I am off to relax some more
and work on my newest WIP - a natural colored blanket for our home

wishing you a relaxing sunny weekend too

Blanket home

this weekend the incafolk-blanket found a baby

~ smile ~

a sweet newborn girl

with a creative mom, who added these christmas-hearts to color-up the stroller
to my eyes the baby, stroller, hearts and blanket are a perfect match

with baby's parents we had our first BBQ in 2011
eating outside in their garden, a glass of wine, that lovely spring sun... hmmm

~ love ~

Large hexagons

a while ago I gave you a sneak peek
to three of these large hexagons

they multiplied
I love making them
and joining them as I go

they will make a special gift
for a special person
probably a little blanket

if you like you can see autumn here
but I believe it is very vintage-spring-like
with that toch of yellow and bright green

~ enjoy your spring Tuesday ~

Ensemble

this Friday
another crochet ensemble

my new hexagon love
the next question is how to arrange them
or to not arrange them at all

but let's first crochet a lot more
to create something more blanketsize

last night my friend put a huge smile on my face

~ it is still there ~

when she told me creJJtion did not only inspire her to crochet
but also her colleagues ~ my former colleagues
to pick up the crochethook again

isn't that wonderful?

thank you ladies for this perfect notice to start the weekend

enjoy yours and crochet along!

~ love ~
