on this rainy day
I finally did what I saw so many others do, and planned to myself do for so long
I made candles
vintage china cups I found at thriftstores, candle wicking
and left overs from candles
au-bain-marie I melted the left overs
quick, easy and fun!
so here I am, sitting by candle light
warm inside
a lot of rain outside
and hey, the cups go perfectly with the match box I decorated earlier this Winter!
I am looking through Flowers by Tricia Guild ~ indeed, founder of Designers Guild
one of my favorite look-books
doing a bit of crochet
and waiting impatiently for the amaryllis to open up
wishing you a lovely Winter day
Your candles are very pretty very warming on a cold day xxx
ReplyDeleteLove your candles, book, and flower. I get a peaceful feeling just reading your post. It's a rainy, cold day here as well. Daffodils are beginning to bloom outside....ive been busy knitting. please stop by to take a peek at my latest project!

Gorgeous, they look so lovely in the tea cups. I will have to keep an eye open for some the next time I'm at a brocante market. I have Tricia's 'Pattern' book and I love it - for colour and pattern inspirations. She's fabulous.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute way to use up bits of candles. Thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love doing these...so easy. I am making oodles for Valentines....joy joy joy. Such sweet photos! Stay cozy and warm my friend. xoxoxoxoxox
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect way to spend your time on a rainy day. I always have bits of candles leftover. I need to start saving them and then melting for new candles, but not sure I can get wicks here. A friend wants to make candles but we can't even get the proper wax here for making them from scratch. Wishing you a fabulous Friday! Tammy
