Shops in Chicago

two more shops in Chicago I would like to share with you

the Paper Doll is a super cute and pretty paper store

I was referred to it by the lovely Sam from Nina Chicago


a wonderful light store

cuteness overload

and beautiful Amy Butler wallpaper


two sisters own the beautiful place

and this little coat rack they had since they were little girls


a lovely collection of stationary items 

among others, from my personal favorites like Rifle Paper Co. and Cath Kidston


but also the opportunity to sit down in this cozy corner

and design your own invitations and announcements


I took this lovely wrapping paper and the cute mobile with me

I can´t wait to put it together!

the other shop is Soutache

packed with beautiful ribbons


organized by color

all woven in satin, linens and many more wonderful materials


displayed in beautiful and original ways


buttons and amazing flowers too


I can totally understand how ladies make their selections for their weddings here


although surrounded with all this beauty

it might be hard to choose...

    Goodness me, what a sight! You would NEVER get me out of ANY of those shops! They look like heaven to me! Good job I live too far away, or my bank balance would suffer greatly! ha ha!

      Haha Becky, I know! The wallpaper is fabulous right?! It is in the back of the store, and before I knew it I just went through the shop straight to the wall, haha. The birdhouse is great, it actually is a large piggy bank!

    so many beautiful things! that mobile is definitely my favorite though so I'm pretty glad you took it home with you! I really need to go to Chicago now...its not an option anymore

    You certainly visited some beautiful shops. We always fly into Chicago for the summer but usually stay in one of the suburbs. I haven't been to downtown Chicago in years. You were fortunate that the weather was so mild this year. Have a wonderful weekend. Tammy

      You are right to do so Tammy, the city is amazing! And so was the weather, absolutely perfect for visiting. You should consider visiting downtown next time, I mean Bucktown, Wicker Park and Lincoln park areas: just off downtown but so pretty and calming... I loved wandering around there.
