Crochet Baskets Galore

as I predicted, I was unstoppable when I started making the baskets

one, two, three, ready in no time

a little decoration with left over material

and when they were finished I took pictures, and again I was unstoppable, haha

let's hope you enjoy the colors and sunny weather as much as I do

top down, bottom up, frontal, I personally like every angle of the baskets

but, they were ment for yarn storage

are you ready for more pictures and colors ?

each basket is different

the smallest one in mint green is made of single crochet stitches and has handles on the side

the middle sized one in the light peach color is made of single crochet

but I only picked up half of the stitches, hence the circle pattern that goes around it

the peach one has handles too

the largest one in blue is made of double crochet stitches and has no handles

the baskets are soft and flexible but yet very sturdy and strong

a combination that actually makes them perfect for yarn storage,

because you can squeeze in quite a lot of yarn and reshape the basket to make it fit

perfect !

all right, one more picture of my happy yarn-cake

so much fun to look at !

~

if you like to make similar baskets yourself, here are my experiences :

three balls of this super sized yarn are the perfect amount for three baskets

the pattern I posted here is the same I used for these baskets, only in different sized circles and stitches

crocheting with hook size 10 or larger requires muscles

or in my case, let's you discover muscles you didn't know you had

you finish fairly fast, which is great fun if you ask me

but I must admit I am not the most patient girl in this world, haha

~

wishing you lots of sunshine and great fun this weekend !

  4. Gorgeous baskets, delicious colours and lovely photos of them all. I just love the material you've used. I've never seen that here. I love the last shot of all three baskets on the green chair. We can really see their beauty here. I also love the other images showing different details and my favourites are the baskets upside down, to show their colour combinations and the photo next to it showing the details of the embroidered bow.
You've done a wonderful job and have an artist's eye for colour. It's a pleasure to come and and visit you!
    Have a beautiful weekend!

  7. I love them. Think about how organized you can be! Now you just have to stop when you start making baskets to hold the yarn you bought to make the baskets... or maybe not they're pretty cute :)

  13. These are amazing - love the colours of this yarn (esp the cornflower blue) and how your stitches are so visible, they're gorgeous. I've never seen this nylon yarn before either, I'm intrigued. Would you make a scarf from it or is it not very nice against the skin (being synthetic)? And the photos, as always, are simply stunning!

    1. thank you! hmmm a scarf... it will be too rough to your skin indeed, but also too stiff to go around your neck. Although it will loosen up if you use an even larger crochet hook. Something to give a second thought
