Huge and Exciting news...

... I am a little late today
the girls surprised me with my bachelorette party last night
we had a great time in downtown Amsterdam
a colormatching-workshop for clothing and make-up, sweet personal gifts,
delicious dinner and a great night out

it was fabulous

~ thank you sweeties! ~

but now let me tell you about the Huge and Exciting Project we are about to undertake:

the fiance and I

are moving to

Canada

this summer!

this is a dream come true for us

we have been preparing this immigration for months now

and we have been dreaming about it for years

he got himself a job in Toronto

and we can hardly wait to go and start our new lives there

I am very happy and excited to finally tell you this!

The week before...

... our wedding

we picked up the weddingrings today

how much I would love to tell you everything already

about my dress, fiance's suit, the bridesmaids dresses, all decoration and details we prepared

but I have to wait unpatiently for one more week

allright, but let me give you  just one sneak peek

the little basket I made for our sweet little niece, to carry the rings next week

isn't it cute?

~ wishing you the most lovely weekend ~

~
thank you for all your sweet comments and advice on how to proceed with the blue shades blanket
sure there is a third option: mixing single-colored squares with the multi-colored ones, great idea!
more about that in a few weeks I suppose
~
I will reveil the Huge and Exciting Project we are working on very soon...!

Choices

I started crocheting these granny squares

they are planned to become a kingsize bedthrow

~ love the blue shades ~

~ love the size when it is finished ~

I am half way with the squares now

and I need your help: should I
1. make more squares like this with unique colorarrangements ~ like in the picture above
2. make the other squares single colored and alternate rows of them with the multi-colored ones ~like below

thank you for your thoughts already ~ how much I love blogging when it comes to these questions!

this is the WIP I am about to start working on again
a perfect summer project I think

there is another Huge and Really Exciting project in my personal life this summer
and I am not talking about the wedding

more about that in a few days

Stockholm #5

after a nice but rainy weekend

my last sunny pictures of our Stockholm trip earlier this month

I love shopping in Stockholm

designtorget, the shops on Södermalm, Ahléns, NK, BookbindersDesign and of course Bruka Design

at Bruka they have the most lovely dishware, fabric and all kinds of Scandinavian plan colorarrangements

and I love rainbows ~ smile

all pictures taken in their shop on Regeringsgatan

and after all the shopping, or in between, go and take a muffin or lunch at the Muffin Bakery

mmmm.... you won't regret it

they have a few shops across town, this one is on Drottninggatan

enjoy your new week and take a bit of Stockholm with you

Finished

finishing projects is great

my very first little ripple
by Lucie's pattern to be found at Attic24

it is so fresh and soft
very very yummie to touch

and finishing one project...
makes me dream of the next, this Greengate blanket for example, as seen in Country Homes & Interiors
may be when I finish the other 4 blankets I am working on, have started this one, I can start a new one?

haha, I am going blanket-crazy I think
why are they so lovely to make? what is your favorite item to make?

I am leaving you with the yarnlabels, some of you requested information on the yarn I used
I must add that the Rowan Damask is not in production anymore, although stil available here and there

thank you for all your sweet comments lately!
and did I mention it is two weeks and one day before the wedding???

Stockholm #4

how wonderful some of you seem to enjoy this Stockholm recap with me

I promised you shopping ~ but totally forgot we did something else on day four as well

as it was June 6, the national holiday of Sweden!

we ate the traditional cake with woodland strawberries and cream ~ absolutely delicious

watch that cute little girl in traditional clothing, may be a little bit too much, but still she looks adorable

the royal palace on Gamla Stan (old city) was open for free that day

the fiance and I tried out the royal balcony and thought the view is quite nice

inside there was, among other beautiful things, an exhibition of statues in long hallways, very pretty

and we watched the parades on the royal square with lots of horses and traditional music

as you can see, we were again very lucky with the weather

have a lovely new week!

now for real: shopping pictures in a next post

Stockholm #3

what can I say?

Skansen is one of the most photogenic places I have been lately

I just couldn't stop taking pictures

and I cannot stop making combinations of them

so here is a little selection... haha

welcome to Skansen, Djurgarden Stockholm

step back in time ~ look how the volunteers are dressed

all buildings in this outdoor museum were carefully broken down somewhere in Sweden and rebuilt here

inside you will find handcrafts of all sorts

all practiced while you watch and ask them questions

of course some wool and fabric crafts too

amazingly beautiful wallpapers all handpainted of course... sigh

beautiful flowers inside and outside ~ basically everywhere

when you get to Stockholm, you will be surprised about the amount of children you see everywhere
so it is no surprise you see them in Skansen too, as well as their lost ~and found~ pacifiers

oh and I almost forgot to mention that in Skansen you will see all wildlife that lives in Sweden
so this is not a cat ~ smile

I hope you are enjoying this city tour with me
there are some shopping pictures left for a next post...

Stockholm #2

the second day in Stockholm

we gave ourselves a tour across the city

due to the fact that Stockholm is made of islands

you see lovely skylines everywhere

because the weather was so good

we decided to rent bikes

us Dutch people, we are used to flat biking lanes in our little flat country

so after all the height differences on our way around Stockholm

this great lunch was well deserved at Rosendals Trädgård on Djurgården

in this park you will find a lot of beautiful flower beds

and the oldest outdoor museum in the world ~ Skansen

more about that in the next post

for those who start to get confused: creJJtion will not turn into a guidebook
~ but I just love to show you Stockholm ~

a lazy long family lunch and delicious dinner
perfect summer-park-walk
and a very relaxing stay

more Stockholm  in the next post

now I am off to check out your pretty blogs and catch up on my reading

~ love ~
